Our client in Port Hedland is currently seeking an Operations Assistant to provide a broad range of administration support services in accordance with corporate and regional requirements for a five month assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administration support services as directed in accordance with corporate and Regional requirements to contribute to the service delivery function in the district
  • Attend to customers and operational enquiries and deliver, or organise for the delivery of services
  • Undertake an administrative data entry function for the service delivery teams in the district
  • Assist depot staff with fleet management administration (i.e. forms, paperwork, filing, help with inspections & booking services that are decided by line managers)
  • Purchase goods, material, plant and services as required and directed utilising E Procurement in accordance with Procurement policies and procedures
  • Receipt, or arrange for receipt, of goods, material, plant and services from suppliers
  • Manage Petty cash - reimbursements, reconcile, recoup and standpipe moneys
  • Undertake accurate and timely processing of employee information, timesheets, allowances and work docket information for the purposes of payroll and cost allocation
  • Manage physical inventory store at depot and procure materials/inventory

About you
To be successful in this role you will have previous administration experience along with outstanding customer service, organisational and time management skills.

  • Experience in providing customer services and administrative support.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, with the ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to show initiative and exercise discretion.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Developed computer application skills using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Developed keyboard skills and the ability to adapt to accounting systems.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
