What does the job look like?

The Operations Manager role is a key position to ensure all required outcomes are achieved within the Pilbara region on a daily basis including strategic planning for the future, safety across the Pilbara, customer relations and profitability is in line with Linfox KPI’s and contractual requirements. The Operations Manager is also responsible for the financial performance of the site and must effectively manage wages, site maintenance and discretionary costs for the customers. Key areas:

Day to Day management of our Newman site and providing support to all contracts within the region to ensure all deliveries and pickups are completed in line with the overall operation strategy
Work in conjunction with the R & I West transport team and third-party transport contracts to collect freight request
Scheduling of transport services to all regional distribution hubs within the Pilbara
Build and foster a successful relationship with regional customers through constant communication
Facilitate continuous improvement across the site through reviewing analytical data and developing new strategies to meet the future operational plan

Are you the one?

You are an experienced Manager who has proven experience with in logistics. You can demonstrate:

Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Management position, highly desirable
Proven track record in performance management of staff
Proven track record in strategic planning, scheduling and labour rostering
Desire to challenge existing processes and procedures to drive operation improvements
Complete understanding and demonstrated working knowledge of legislative requirements for transport in WA for Load Restraint and COR
Previous experience with load configurations, weights, truck & trailer type allocation, Permits, Dangerous Goods and general freight operations
